I’m selling DVDs on my website, how can people who purchase them receive a tax deduction?
Unfortunately, they can’t. A donation is a gift made for charitable purposes. That gift must be given without return consideration. If any goods or services are received it is considered a purchase or a sales transaction, not a donation. Payment for DVDs, ticket sales, promotional merchandise, and etc. should be made directly to you or your company, not to IDA.
