The best way to inform the media of an upcoming event is through a media advisory. This is a short press release (one or two paragraphs maximum) that explains the basics of what your event is about, who is participating and when and where the event will take place. This document must be in both English and French. Media Relations can, on occasion, provide you with a list of journalists to send your release to. Please get in contact with our office at extension 4880 in regards to this. If media do show up at your event, you should also have a longer, more explanatory press release to offer them at the event itself, once again in both English and French.
