Im not sure Im comfortable with the fact that Name-Keeper essentially “gives” my IP address (through my chosen hostname) to the whole Internet. What are the security risks involved with this?
With or without running a web server, anyone can get your IP address. In fact whenever you visit a web site, not only does your browser give out your IP address, but a copy of your IP address is saved in that site’s web server log. Fortunately, simply knowing your IP address is not enough for somebody to compromise the security of your computer.
