My retirement plan at work has grown to a little over $1,000,000, and it’s going to get bigger because I still have about ten years before I retire. My wife and I have some other investments, but the retirement plan is the bulk of our estate. If I die first, I want to let my wife use the income from the retirement plan for the rest of her life, but after she dies, I want the balance to pass to my two daughters, not to my wife’s next husband or anyone else.
