I’m not a native speaker of Japanese. How good does my Japanese have to be to teach it?
Your Japanese doesn’t have to be perfect to teach it. As an example, most non-native teachers at UK secondary schools have around level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. However, there are also many excellent teachers with Japanese below this level, who are successfully introducing Japanese language and culture in schools.
