I think of the 30 or so that i’ve heard, these are pretty representational: Masada 1 (or 2 or 3) to hear actual jazz Naked City (the self titled one) and Torture Garden, to hear jump-cut craziness Painkiller: Buried Secrets, to hear big bad heavy metal noise stuff The Big Gundown, to hear crazy arrangements Filmworks vol.
