At the end of your sophomore year (or the equivalent if you are a transfer student) start looking for an internship. You have to search for these on your own (although your advisor may tell you of some likely sources) and apply to the crime labs offering them. You must be enrolled as a student to be in an internship—most crime labs will not take non-students. Once you have arranged an internship you can talk to your advisor about enrolling in ANTH 497 Forensic Science Internship.
