IM NEW TO DEBBIE HARRY, WHAT IS CONSIDERED TO BE HER BEST ALBUMS?
Well that all depends on your personal taste. Critically speaking, “Def Dumb and Blonde” has received the most critical praise. It is a wonderfully diverse album in the Blondie tradition, with some of the tracks produced by, Mike Chapman (ex-Blondie producer). Included on the album are some great songs written by Deborah Harry and Chris Stein. The album also spawned the hit single “I Want That Man”. Harry’s first solo album “Koo Koo”, while much derided by critics, isn’t all that bad and in fact has some very strong tracks. The album is perhaps a little stylistically focused, but still has some catchy tracks like, “The Jam Was Moving”. Her follow up to “Koo Koo” was the bubble gum flavored “Rockbird”. This is a pure 80’s pop album and while missing some of the eclecticism of Blondie’s work, it still has all the fun and sense of humor. The big hit single from the album was the lusty “French Kissing in the USA”. Harry’s other solo album was 1993’s “Debravtion”, a musically diverse album.
