Im leaving FSU for the summer, how can I access my eMail from my home computer?
1. You can use web mail at https://webmail.fsu.edu/ 2. You can SSH to Garnet and read your eMail directly on the machine using either Pine or Elm. 3. You can use an eMail client like Netscape Mail, Eudora or Microsoft Outlook to retrieve your mail from Garnet and transfer it to your home computer. All you have to do is set your SMTP server to the one provided by your ISP. Netscape Mail Make sure that your “Outgoing mail (SMTP) server” is set to the SMTP server provided by your ISP. Your “Mail server user name” will continue to be your username on Garnet (or Mailer). Your “Incoming mail server” (either POP or IMAP) will continue to be Garnet (or Mailer). Eudora Mail Make sure “SMTP” is set to the SMTP server provided by your ISP. “Mail” will continue to be Garnet (or Mailer). Note that if your ISP doesn’t allow you to use third party software like the above, it is not giving you full PPP access. AOL does not, for example.
