Im in the IMP/NMP and require temporary accommodation while participating in the 4 month Vancouver portion of my 1st year. Can I get housing on campus?
In partnership with the OSA/MD Undergraduate Program, UBC Housing guarantees temporary accommodation in their Marine Drive residences (other residences may be considered at the student’s request) for up to 40 students who have accepted offers to the Island or Northern Medical Programs. Please note that this “single” student accommodation is shared with 3 other UBC (not necessarily MD) students. You will find information on Marine Drive residences, fees, etc. at: http://www.housing.ubc.ca/marine/main.htm. You’ll note that Marine Drive is considered “Year Round” housing. Don’t let this concern you; our partners at UBC Housing are fully aware that our students will reside in their residences for 4 months only. If you would like to be considered for this guaranteed accommodation please contact Victoria Lambert, the Program Coordinator for the Office of Student Affairs, immediately upon accepting an offer to the IMP or NMP so that she can include you on the Priority Placement List.
