Im having trouble with search engine marketing terminology. What are some common terms in online advertising and what do they mean?
• Impressions – How many times your ad is displayed to users in search engine results. • Clicks – How many times your ad is clicked on by the user. • CTR – Click-through-rate is the ratio at which your ad results in a click after being displayed. • PPC/CPC – Pay-per-click or (cost-per-click) is the cost incurred by users clicking on your advertisement./li> • Average CPC – Average Cost-per-click is the total average amount of money clicks in your campaign incurred. • Average Position – The average position your is displayed in a given search result. This is determined by the bid price you set for your ads’ CPC as well as other metrics determined by the search engine. • Conversions – The number of times that a click on your ad results in a measurable action taken ( i.e sale, lead, request for information, etc.) • ROI – The return on the investment for your advertising campaign. Often expressed as a dollar amount, this is the ratio of revenue generated by your advertising as compared to t
