Apple’s QuickTime for Windows is rather limited in its MCI driver support. Here are the criteria for version numbers and display of MOV files in Windows 95, NT and 3.1. In all cases, version 2.1.1B is the current version, and has been tested with ThumbsPlus. Windows NT: The 32-bit version provides both 32-bit MCI drivers and a 32-bit player. Windows 95: The 32-bit version MCI drivers do not work on Windows 95. You’ll need the 16-bit version of QuickTime for Windows, regardless of whether you’re running the 32-bit or 16-bit ThumbsPlus. Windows 3.1: The 16-bit version of QuickTime is required. Apple’s QuickTime site has the latest versions to download. They also provide further information on QuickTime for Windows compatibility with Windows NT, 95 and 3.1.
