There are two very quick fixes you should try – one is built into NOD32, the other requires a small download. Both problems manifest themselves with similar symptoms, but your issues could be caused by either (or both). These problems can be by the removal of a program or malware. This could be caused by an unclean uninstall of a legitimate program, or something more sinister, but it sounds like something has broken either the LSP layer, or the TCP/IP & WINSOCK installation. To repair the LSP layer – open the NOD32 Control Center, IMON setup -> Miscellaneous -> Network configuration changes If this doesn’t work, you should try to fix your Winsock layer – the following download will repair your Windows XP WINSOCK – WINSOCK FIX DOWNLOAD Try this fix – reboot and try again.
