I have a rigid system like you are describing. I placed my pipe in back of the cages at 8 inches but somehow the pipe got threaded through lower wire spaces such that it drops over the run to 6 inches at the end. I am going to replace the entire system this spring and return it to the 8 inch mark over the entire path. There are a few reasons NOT to place it too low. One, if it is too low the grown rabbits actually have to stoop to drink. I believe you can get more water in your rabbits if the water is allowed to drop into their mouths from a higher placed nipple. I believe water is the best nutrient we can get into our rabbits to increase their health so making it difficult to get maximum water is a bad thing. Two, thread your nipples at an angle such that they point downward at a 45 degree angle. Again this will put more water in their mouths. If you place your pipe at 8 inches this actually makes the nipple easy for them to use without lowering the pipe. If you used a 6 inch height t
