I’d suggest an HP or a Toshiba. Both are durable and I haven’t had any problems with them. Office Depot has Toshiba’s on sale every few months that are limited quantity with an instant rebate and sometimes an additional mail-in rebate. Like this…http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?leve… If you get one, you might add additional memory to it. Do not get a Dell or an Acer. Both are nothing but trouble.

Get a Mac laptop. You won’t have to worry virus and most programs for Windows have a Mac version. It may cost you a bit more then most PC laptop but in the long run, your Mac laptop will still be working unlike most PC.

I honestly wouldn’t suggest Dell but I would suggest Sony viao, hp, toshiba, or compaq. I would use a pc first before using a mac. They are nice but go w/ a pc first unless ur majoring in anything that’s deals w/ design like architecture, fashion design, interior design and yeah….

It depends on many factors: price, how often you travel, how fast you need for you laptop. So I think you should read some reviews before going to the last decision.

I would highly recommened an Apple Mac Book or Macbook Pro. I would steer clear of Acer, Dell, or Gateway. Some other good brands are Toshiba and HP. And just to be safe, always buy the extended warranty.
