I just bought my wedding dress myself and I can tell you, it’s really best to go to a store and try the dresses on. You will begin to get a feel for which styles you like and more importantly what you do not like. For example I love how ball gowns look in pictures but when I tried them on I found they made my hips look big so I opted to go with an A-line. You won’t know these things until you’ve tried lots of dresses on. After that, you also need to decide how much you are willing to pay for your dress. There is no point going to expensive high end designers’ websites if you can’t afford their dresses, or to David’s Bridal if you’re looking for a designer dress. A website like The Knot is good because it has a place you can search multiple designers, prices and in the advanced search you can even choose different elements of the style you are looking for. Also, I HIGHLY recommend checking ebay before buying in a bridal store. I found my exact dress on an ebay store for $300 less than I
