Im getting braces tomorrow?
On your first trip you’ll probably do X-Rays and take a mold of your teeth. Getting the molds done is just uncomfortable, not painful. That will probably take 30min. Next appointment you’ll actually get your braces. THIS DOES NOT HURT!! I was in the same position as you and I posted a REALLY long braces question and everyone told me it wouldn’t hurt and guess what? They were right. When they put on the braces they put some glue on your teeth then the brackets (the silver things) after checking to make sure they’re in the right place they use this blue light to dry the glue. Then they string the wire through and put the colors you want on. Then your done!! I didn’t have a tooth pulled so I can’t help you on that, but I’m sure they numb your mouth for it. It takes about an hour to get top and bottom braces on. Getting them tightened doesn’t hurt either it’s just uncomfortable. The only time it’s going to hurt is about 4 hours after you get them on. wow so many questions at once kidding i wouldnt worry about it on you first trip they just look at your teeth and figure out what has to be done at tell you they might take a mould of your teeth as well but that isnt sore you braces dont hurt but after a day or sore they start to hurt also they rub of your gums to they give you wax to put over they train tracks which helps a lot well iv had 4 teeth takin out but all at diffrent times for braces and they numbed me each time it isnt sore but some people say that it is sorer geting teeth removed from the top but for me its just the same it only hurts for a couple of seconds getting them tightened is not sore at the time but after words it is just take some paracetomol also when you first get them and getting them tightened dont eat like chewy food like stake have soft food like potatoes cos afterwords it does hurt hope this helps and dont worry about it
When I went to the orthodontist for the 1st time, all they really did was examine my teeth and took pictures. Then, they called me in again and discussed w/ me how long I would have to wear braces. Then, I made another appointment to get my braces on. To get braces on, it didn’t particularly hurt for me. It just felt uncomfortable because I wasn’t used to it. For a lot of other people though, it did hurt for them. It will hurt when you get it tightened the first few times. It takes a while to put on the braces (maybe like an hour) and it doesn’t take that long to tighten them. To put the braces on, they apply glue and try not to touch the glue because it tastes really sour and disgusting. I had to get four teeth pulled out! It didn’t hurt for me because they numbed my mouth and made me fall asleep. Don’t be scared! You’ll look wonderful once you get your braces off and you’ll be happy you got them on.
Your orthodontist will take impressions of your teeth with a metal type of tray. They fill the trays with this goo (almost like a cold clay) and have you bite down to get a good mold of your teeth. It can be a bit uncomfortable only because the goo is really messy. Tip: (Breath through your nose) When they put the braces on – it’s just really uncomfortable feeling. I wouldn’t say that it hurts. When you have them tightening regurlarly – it will be uncomfortable to eat solid foods. You may feel some irritation from the braces against your inner jaws and lips. (They should give you wax to help with this) After awhile – you will get used to it. – but there will be days that the braces irritate you. It should not hurt when they pull your teeth. If you have a good dentist – they should numb you and you won’t feel a thing. Different dentist have a different method of doing this.
