Im familiar with the antioxidants vitamins C and E, but what is alpha lipoic acid?
Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is an antioxidant and a cofactor in the body’s production of energy. It has been named the “universal” antioxidant because it quenches free radicals in both lipid and water-soluble portions of tissues and cells. Like CoQ10, it has also been shown to recycle vitamins such as C and E.
