Im eligible for the reduced fare Metrocard. Can I use NYS-Ride to pay for this pass?
Yes! Since the reduced fare card is refillable, it will work on a voucher basis. Once a month you will receive a voucher from NYS-Ride that you will use like cash to refill your reduced fare card. Before you enroll in the reduced fare Metrocard program for NYS-Ride, you must first have signed up for the card with the MTA. NYS-Ride vouchers can only refill an existing card. Finding the enrollment option for the reduced fare Metrocard is a bit tricky. You will NOT find it as an option by clicking on the Metrocard button. Instead, the reduced fare option is listed as a separate vendor in the scrolling screen at the bottom of the enrollment page.
