Im doing a week-long trek across Scotland soon. What are the best snacks to carry in my pack?
Most importantly go for the snacks that will provide you with plenty of carbohydrates to top up your energy levels as you trek. You will also think about snacks that are compact and light, won’t get bruised, damaged or leak while in the bottom of your rucksack. Carry a couple of bags of dried fruits such as apricots or sultanas (you only need a small handful each time). Malt loaf is also a good idea and so are cereal bars such as Trackers, Alpen or Elevenses. Try a few before you go to see which ones you prefer and take a variety so you won’t get bored. If you want something less sweet, try Altu bars, which come in two savoury flavours.
