Im considering getting a modbo, apple chip, or a magic chip, which should I get?
A. The modbo is actually a decent chip. It is a Matrix Infinity Clone, and it’s not on par with the Big three (Matrix Infinity, DMS 4, Crystal Chip), but if you don’t want to pay $10 more for a top of the line chip, consider the modbo 2.1. The modbo runs off the Matrix Infinity firmware. It is a clone, and as such, it’s highly recommended to get one of the big three modchips. The Magic Duo3 is also a quality chip. It’s one of the only budget chips that is actually quite reliable. It direct boots everything, supports DVD-9 games (not DVD-9 backups though), and has multi disk support. An excellent value at around $20, if you can solder it yourself. If you pay a pro, it’ll set you back around $70. (20$ for chip, $35, for install, $15 for shipping).
