There’s no real difference, merely the confusion of the software industry at the time, which churned out two different disc filing systems for the Acorn Electron. ADFS stands for Advanced Disc Filing System, DFS stands for Disc Filing System so logically you might think that the former would be the more advanced of the two. But it doesn’t really work that way – there are advantages and disadvantages with each.
