Im concerned about taking B-level courses in my first year. Is this a problem?
It isn’t drastically unusual for students to take B-level courses in their first year. It also isn’t the sort of thing I would encourage just anyone to do, since some people are more ready for it than others, but certainly it is possible to do well in B-level courses in one’s first year. As a general rule of thumb, I would recommend that if you are very sure of the programs you intend to enter its probably fine to go ahead and take B-level courses for a couple of reasons. First, if you are that sure I can only assume you are relatively comfortable with the subjects in question. Second, there is frequently only about one full-course equivalent at the A-level in any particular discipline, and if you want to load up on courses from only one or two different disciplines you are going to have to take B-level courses anyway and theres no reason to be afraid of doing that.
