Most postures can be modified and structured to accommodate injuries-sometimes the teacher may have you use props and sometimes he/she may direct you towards a modification of the posture, or maybe even a different posture altogether. Please let your teacher know of any pre-existing medical condition or injury so he/she can help you appropriately.
