Im applying for a UK student visa very soon, does anybody know how strict they are?
Even if your parents have moved to the UK if they are not UK citizens, UK permanent residents, or EU citizens then it may not help you with getting the additional 10 points due to the fact they are subject to immigration control. This means they can be removed from the UK and you would then loose your support. Additionally by moving in with your parents you will have to prove by you living there it will not force them to taken government assistance and you would have to prove that by staying there you would not need to rely on government assistance. This can may be an extremely sensitive area if your parents are still subject to immigration control. You ask if there is another way to get the 10 points and the answer is no. My feeling if you do not have the required funds then there is a good chance your application will be rejected due to not having enough points.
