Im a visual learner. Does the Pimsleur Language Program include printed text?
(back to Pimsleur FAQ) The entire point of doing an intensive spoken language course, with the requirement of doing a half-hour spoken-language practice session every day, is to include the kind of language learning that will enable you to discover how easy it is to understand and speak other languages in their spoken forms. That said, most Pimsleur Comprehensive courses include a booklet of reading material and optional lessons that will help familiarize you with words you might see on menus, signs and in other everyday situations. More than 25 million individual American language learners have purchased and learned to speak a language with Dr. Paul Pimsleur’s unique and exciting new spoken language method. You have nothing to lose, and a world of spoken communication to gain. Take advantage of PimsleurDirect – and enjoy experiencing the wealth of language and linguistic materials available here.
The Pimsleur producs are unique, if not brilliant; however, the lack of a printed, follow-along, transcript IS TOTAL INSANITY.
When I purchased mine (about $9c worth), back in the 90’s, I begged the retailer to provide me w/ a printed transcript; and received, instead, the basic-middle-finger. To the best of my knowledge, none of their printed materials, advertising; nor packaging, contain words-to-the-effect: "No Transcript Inclosed / Included / Provided."
Although these programs have helped me, more than any other language course; as indicated above, their major-league ommision IS TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY LAME !!
