I’m a transfer student. How can I get credit towards the Stanford English major for the classes I’ve already taken?
First, work with the Registrar’s office to apply courses taken at other universities towards your Stanford education. Details on this can be found here: http://registrar.stanford.edu/students/academics/xfer_credit.htm. If any literature courses have been approved by the Registrar’s office, please submit a “Request for Course Equivalence”: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/english/deptWebFiles/forms/CourseEquiv.pdf to receive departmental approval. Up to four transfer courses can be counted towards the English major. Back to Top • Can I get credit for my internship Yes, you can get credit for your internship by enrolling in an independent study. To do so, submit this completed form: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/english/deptWebFiles/forms/English198Form.pdf to the English Department, room 460-201A. A section of English 198 will then be set up under your instructor’s name in which you can enroll. Credit for the internship cannot be counted towards the English major or minor.
