Listen to your teacher. She is right. At the age of 18, your voice is still developing. Your voice will not fully develop until your mid to late 30’s. This is why opera singers don’t reach their full vocal potential until then. So far you are on the right track with your repertoire. Don’t focus on vocal fach right now.Sing whatever fits your voice at the moment, but indeed it could change as time progresses. Since you have a teacher, I am sure you are working your diaphragmatic breathing into your technique. Continue to do that. I would be careful of the doing stomach exercises suggested above. Some stomach exercises are ok, but some actually temporarily weaken your stomach muscles. This is NOT GOOD if you have to sing the next day. It actually cuts off your breath support for a couple of days. So be careful with that advice. I stay away from them a couple of days before a performance. Some of the older teachers I studied with say don’t do them at all, but I say be cautious with doing
