COURSE CHALLENGE POLICY A skier not meeting the prerequisites for a course may apply to CANSI to be granted equivalency for the prerequisites based on their background. The application must be made to the course examiner in writing or email at least 4 weeks prior to the close of registration for the course, and must include an on-snow session or video review by a CANSI course conductor at the appropriate level. Equivalency can be granted for at most one certification level. The candidate must meet all the criteria of the certification level, including an understanding and practice of all CANSI policy/procedure and teaching practices/pedagogy. Exceptional cases will be considered with additional advance notice. If the course examiner is satisfied that the candidate’s background is equivalent to the course prerequisites, the application and the course examiner’s recommendation are to be forwarded for approval by the applicable technical committee: Regional for XC Level II and Telemark Le
