Im a parent: How can I stay involved with my childs Greek activities?
As a parent, you are encouraged to find out more information about the Greek community at Laurier before you condone or condemn it. You can take an active part in the Greek experience by asking questions, encouraging your child to clarify what he/she wants from Laurier, and supporting the decision to expand his or her horizons. If you son or daughter chooses to join, participate in activities planned for parents, ask about chapter events, read the organizations new member (pledge) manual and literature, and encourage a leadership role. Experience has shown repeatedly that the most successful chapters and undergraduates are the ones with active parents and alumni. Greek membership will help you child prepare for an independent, full adult life.
