IGN FAQs: Whats the gaming scene like in England?
Tom Hayes:The gaming scene over here is definitely gaining in popularity. For a while, the only places I could find to buy games were online or in markets. Now, there is a tremendous increase in popularity due to the PS2, GC, Xbox and Gameboy Advance, and shops seem to be springing up all over the place. Unfortunately, games that are released in the US are normally delayed in England by anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. There are some exceptions like Ape Escape 2 and Final Fantasy Origins, but there is usually a long wait which can be pretty frustrating for an FAQ author wanting to write an FAQ as soon as the game is out. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is still very popular over here, as well as action games like Primal. Adventure games like Sam & Max and Grim Fandango aren’t quite as popular as they used to be, but RPGs like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are still very popular in England.
