Let’s keep this simple 1) Yes, you can have 2 hard drives. When the computer starts up both hard drives will be powered on. 2) If you have a different O/S on each you will be asked which O/S to start with. Only that O/S will run, the second will not be loaded. 3) Once the selected O/S is started the other drive will still be running. If it has a compatible file system then you can access the second drive from the current O/S. 4) Other than 3, there is no “impact” of having the second drive. The user on the system controls what happens with the second drive.
