If World War 1 was fought today(2008) using 2007 money, how much would the war cost?
If WWI, which was fought until the countries simply could not fight any longer, was fought today, the cost would be over a billion lives. The only advantage humanity has in the era of thermonuclear weapons is none of the nations who have them wish to use them. If the WWI determination were coupled with today’s weapons, the monetary cost would be meaningless.
