If women are dying from the ORTHO EVRA birth control patches, why are they still being advertised on television?
One answer could be greed. A spokesperson for Ortho McNeil Pharmaceuticals says the birth control patches are as safe as birth control pills but we know that is simply not true. ORTHO EVRA birth control patches release 60 percent more estrogen than birth control pills and medical studies have shown that more estrogen means more blood clots and other life threatening side effects. Further research has shown that more women have died from using the birth control contraceptive patch for 4 years than women who have used birth control pills for longer amounts of time.
