If we run out of the normal saline diluent for ActHIB, can we use the normal saline we routinely have on hand?

The manufacturer’s diluent is 0.4% sodium chloride. The other vials of sodium chloride that clinics have on hand are typically 0.9% sodium chloride, which should not be used to reconstitute ActHIB. If for some reason, you have more ActHIB on hand than diluent, you can contact the manufacturer for additional diluent. For any vaccine that must be reconstituted, only use the diluent supplied specifically by the manufacturer for that vaccine.
