Do not refer to these countries as “barbaric.” There is nothing barbaric about the way they live. They are in poverty and because of this, they look toward religion for hope. When someone tells them their religion is wrong or there is only hope in a different religion, it destroys their plans for a peaceful future and infuriates them! This can cause war and altruistic suicide, in the name of their religion. If we pull out, there will be many deaths, but that is already occuring anyway. It would be best to pull out and if they self destruct, they self destruct. We must sympathize with the poor, but we cannot force regime change. That has no benefits, as it shows the countries that violence is a solution to problems. We need to stop being the World Police.
