If University-owned property is damaged or stolen, what is the procedure to file an insurance claim?

0

A Criminal damage or theft of University-owned property: Contact University Police Dispatch (523-3611) to file a police report on the loss. Also, contact the Insurance Officer at Property and Liability Insurance Services (523-2009) with the police report number. The Insurance Officer will order the police report and a claim will be generated. Damage to University-owned property (non-criminal): Fill out the on-line Damage Report and submit. The Damage Report is not a police report, but an information report that provides information on the loss and provides documentation to generate an insurance claim. Timeline to File a Claim: It is important to file the Damage Report or Police Report in a timely manner. Losses estimated to exceed $10,000 are to be reported to State Risk Management within one working day. State Risk Management will deny losses not reported within 90 days from date of occurrence.
