If this is truly being done on a “lot by lot” basis doesn’t it stand to reason that a seasonal home (where the water is shut off from Nov. to April) would be fine with a reasonably new septic system?

As it is only being used 6 months of the year. All septic systems are sized based on the number of bedrooms … not average annual flow (annual usage). Septic systems have to be sized to handle the amount of wastewater during peak usage.
