No. Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) by its nature is resistant to losing messages. If the system is down before the message is sent, the sender will re-try. If the appliance receives the message and the appliance goes down in the middle of the scan, the message is retained on the hard disk. When the system comes back up, the scan will be re-started, and the process will resume.
