The AMPTP is a guild that represents the companies that produce the television shows and movies. Some of the producers in question actually hold a stake in the company that produces their show, so there is an interesting and schizophrenic dichotomy at work in the minds of some showrunners. And, if you’re keeping track at home, in the battle of corporations vs. people, the side of the corporation is the more rugged, shrewd one. Go figure.
