If the research project involves interviewing a large number of people from the same organisation, then do I need to ask every participant to sign a consent form?
In situations such as interviewing a large member of employees, for example, in one company, it should be adequate for the researcher to ask the relevant company manager or other senior employee to complete the consent form on behalf of the group of employees to be interviewed. However, if this route is chosen then it is important that the representative manager makes the other participants aware of the issues raised in the consent form. It is especially important for the researcher to satisfy himself/herself that there are no abuses of power in the soliciting of participants for the research.
