If the remote VPN site uses dynamic IP address and is unable to apply for DDNS service, what remote ID should I enter on my VPN gateway to establish the VPN connection?
If the remote VPN gateway or remote VPN client software uses dynamic IP and is unable to apply for DDNS service, you can enter 0.0.0.0 as the remote IP address or use the Distinguished Name as remote identity. If it is the case, the local site has to use the IP address in order to connect with the remote site, and the VPN connection can only be initiated from dynamic side to fixed side. However, if both VPN sites use dynamic IP address, there is no way to establish VPN connection at all.
