If the MSFC were to fail but the L2 portion of the Supervisor were still alive, would the CSM in the chassis failover to the redundant CSM in another chassis?

A. Currently, CSM and MSFC are independent from a failover perspective. If the MSFC in a chassis fails, the CSM in that chassis will not fail. The design includes a trunk which will allow traffic from the MSFC on the other chassis to reach the CSM on the chassis with the failed MSFC.
