If the immediate supervisor leaves the job during the year, who will rate the employee’s performance at the end of the year?
In every company, in most of the cases the Employees have Two Supervisors. One as the First Supervisor and the Other as the Second Supervisor.In case of Immediate supervisor leaving the Job, the second Supervisor shall take the charge.
In the second scenario, when there is no Second Supervisor, then the Employee can give a Self Appraisal which can be used for this time. This can also be monitored by some Higher Official(For preventing any wrong appraisal)

The performance review is conducted by the supervisor who is there at the time the evaluation is due. The former supervisor is encouraged to document employee performance prior to leaving the position. Otherwise, the new or interim supervisor should evaluate the employee based upon their personal observations and feedback from others who normally provide input.
