If the hotel costs exceed the official lodging rate for that area, can I get reimbursed for the additional lodging costs?
No, AFIT/ENEM CME will not authorize any increase to the official per diem rate for that area. AFIT will only pay the authorized per diem rate. Additional expenses will be the responsibility of the individual officer. We recommend you check the per diem rate for the location your TDY location. The Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR) have the information you need to request approval for lodging expenses that were more than the prescribed per diem rate.
