If the film manufactured out of dual action is buried in soil will it degrade beneath?
In case of land filling/buried in soil, the temperature below the soil will increase due to the Methane gas, which is generated due to the decomposition of the garbage. The film containing dual action degradable MB will degrade at this temperature. • Is the end result of degradation bio degradation? The prodegradent additive breaks down the polymer chain loading to a lowering of the molecular weight and eventually to a loss of strength & other properties. The low molecular weight waxes are attracted by bacteria and fungi. • Does effective degradation take place when micro- organisms are not present (such as in soils deprived of oxygen)? It also degrades in anaerobic condition. • Is it safe to incinerate both DA and TA? Yes, DA & TA can be incinerated. No toxic gases will be evolved.
