If the economy is turning around then why piss all the stimulus money away?
It is not turning around. It’s slowing at a slower pace. Instead of losing 600, 000 jobs a month we are losing only 450,000…. Instead of GDP decreasing by 5-7% per quarter it is only decreasing 2-3% per quarter. Economy is still retracting and will continue to retract all year. This decline has been so sharp that when we turn positive it will take a couple of years to get all the jobs we lost if we create 600,000 a month and pull our GDP back to 2007 levels if it grows by 6% a quarter over 2 years. Stimulus is needed but not how it’s being used. If it is not job creation only then it’s a waste. We got to put these people back to work even if only temporary government employment before confidence will return and growth will return. We add 120,000 per month to the work force every month so it is worse than the numbers say. Discouraged workers not counted in the Unemployment rate are at a all time high.
