But the FBI has refused all requests to have those firearms independently examined to verify that they really are what the Bureau claims. Based on personal experience as a reporter stretching back into the mid 1960s, all police agencies are eager to have their evidence verified by outside experts because it boosts their overall veracity. Given the FBI’s verified history of faking evidence and perjury, it is not unreasonable to be suspicious of the Bureau’s claims, especially so in such a highly political case as the Waco disaster.
