There is an important distinction – we don’t support COSMETIC animal testing, but animal testing for medicines is very much necesary. … unless YOU are happy to be the guinea pig for drugs which may well potentially be ineffectual or have bad side effects. EDIT: well, out of simple ignorance then. It isn’t particularly easy (and certainly not obvious) to know which products have been tested on animals and which have not. By buying an product tested on animals unknowingly does in no way mean that you support it. I actually suspect that the majority of people probably think the most products are fine. I suspect if ALL products had very clear labelling you would see quite a large drop in sales of products tested on animals.
