If teams have until December 31st to comply with the new services definitions and cap limits, do we have to modify plans and transition services before December 31?
For plans that start on or after September 1, 2010, the services chosen should be in compliance with service definitions and caps when their plan starts. For July and August plans, CMs have until Dec 31, 2010 to work with participants to get the services into compliance with definitions and caps. Replacement services for needs above cap include companion, sup living, child habilitation, and residential habilitation training. If there are issues with changing services to meet a person’s needs, consult your Participant Support Specialist at the Division.
